GRADUATE MUSIC AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Students are encouraged to audition in person on one of the available dates. The
Application for Admission to the Graduate Program and the Audition
Registration forms must be completed and returned to the Petrie School of Music
at least two weeks prior to your proposed audition date.
Performance: The audition should be a minimum of twenty minutes in length and demonstrate at least two
style periods. Memory is required in piano, strings, and voice (except oratorio).
Music Education: The audition should be a minimum of ten minutes in the applicant’s area of
performance.
Piano Pedagogy: The audition should be a minimum of twenty minutes. Memory is required
Recorded Auditions
Students unable to audition in person must submit a high-quality audition recording. VHS or DVD is preferred, although cassette or CD will be accepted. The recording must clearly identify the applicant's name, instrument, and audition repertoire. Recordings will not be returned. Please contact
