RESEARCH PROJECTS

Converse psychology majors are encouraged to participate in research opportunities, as a directed independent study or in a team research environment with a faculty member.

Students have presented their findings at conferences and received grants from competitive organizations such as the South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities.

Recent student and class research topics have included:
  • Prevalence of eating disorders and negative body image in college-age women
  • Children's accuracy in line-up identification after a time delay
  • The relationship between sex and visual-spatial ability
  • The relationship between depression and locus of control in college students
  • Considering the sex of the alleged perpetrators of child sexual abuse: Are there inequities in convictions and sentencing?
