EARLY INTERVENTION IN AUTISM
Historically, only about five percent of the children diagnosed with autism have recovered. Ivar Lovaas has developed a method that, in its early testing, shows that 47% of the children treated recovered. Psychology 307, Early Intervention in Autism, is taught by Converse professor, Dr. Spencer Mathews, who spent a six-month sabbatical studying with Dr. Lovaas.

Converse students have the opportunity to work with local children whose intervention programs are designed around the Lovaas research.
