& COMPUTER SCIENCE MAJORS |
In addition to learning to solve higher-level problems, studying
for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics teaches one to
effectively communicate
mathematical concepts, to organize and analyze information, and to use
technology in doing mathematics.
There are three degree options:
- The Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics prepares students for careers
involving mathematics, including graduate studies in mathematics
and careers in mathematical education.
- The Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science,
with its two areas of concentration in computer science or
business, provides one with a foundation for careers in a workplace that is becoming
increasingly computer-oriented. During the course of study,
students have the opportunity to learn the
structure of major hardware components of computers and learn how to
develop software.
- The Bachelor of
Science in Computer Science and Mathematics prepares students for any career
in computer science, including graduate work in computer
science or a career in education.
