Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics 
GUEST LECTURERS
Beyond the classroom, students have the opportunity to attend scholarly presentations relating to mathematics and physics. Each term, in cooperation with Wofford College and the University of South Carolina-Spartanburg, Converse offers a series of lectures on mathematics. Recent topics include:
  • The Mathematics and Astronomy of Ancient Cultures
  • Integers With No Simple Prime Factors
  • Fractals and Chaos
Recent guest lecturers have included:
  • The acclaimed astronomer Dr. Anthony F. Aveni lectured on, "Skywatchers of Ancient Mexico." Aveni was featured in Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the 10 best university professors in the country. 
  • Dr. Mary Gray, and  Dr. Marietjie Frick from the University of South Africa, an internationally known speaker on graph theory, compared higher education in South Africa and the United States.
