The Department of Foreign Languages and
Literatures offers
its students small classes and a large variety of courses in its curriculum,
including four languages (French, Spanish, German, and Italian.)
Through the in-depth focus on the three
integrally related areas of language study - language, literature,
and culture - a student is exposed to fresh ways of looking at herself
and at the world in which she lives. With this in mind,
the department strongly encourages its students to spend
at least one semester abroad in order to gain fluency in the foreign
language and share in the everyday life of its native
speakers. |
