Professor Rose teaches Nineteenth Century British and American literature, and special topics courses in Nineteenth Century literature. Her research interests include British women writers, popular culture, and Utopian literature. She has studied for a summer term at Oxford University and has published articles on Elizabeth Corbett, nineteenth century feminist, socialist, and utopian novelist, and Emily Davies, a pioneer of women's education in nineteenth century England. Her most recent publication is an examination of the modern recasting of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein in the popular television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The essay appears in a
collection entitled "Fighting the Forces: What's at Stake in Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
She is the advisor to Concept, a student
publication.
