Theilmann has published Discrimination and Congressional Campaign
Contributions (1991) and 27 articles and book chapters. He has also made
33 conference presentations. His articles appear in Journal of
Politics, Social Science Quarterly, Journal of British Studies,
Encyclopedia of Environmental Issues, The Historian, Public Choice,
Albion, American Politics Quarterly, Atlantic Economic Journal,
Natural Resources, and many other journals. He is on the editorial
board of Journal of Political Science, the journal of the South
Carolina Political Science Association, and he has been a political
consultant and campaign manager. He also serves as Converse's
director of institutional research and he is an active leader in
institutional assessment activities. He has participated on many
Southern Association accrediting teams which evaluate the
institutional effectiveness of colleges and universities in the
South.
