Dr. King took her B.A. degree from George Peabody College for Teachers, studied at the Université de Grenoble, and earned her M.A. and Ph.D. from Louisiana State University. Her articles and reviews have appeared in regional and national journals; and her book, On the Threshold: Paratextuality in Balzac’s "La Peau de chagrin" ["The Wild Ass’s Skin"] was published by Edwin Mellen Press in 1992. She is currently the Anne Morrison Chapman Professor of Foreign Languages and Director of International Studies at Converse College.
