A native of Spartanburg, Dr. Dunbar has been
teaching at Converse since 1986. She teaches most of the
introductory level math
courses, and some of the courses designed for math
majors.

Dr. Dunbar’s research interests are currently
centered on longest path problems in graph theory,
a branch of discrete mathematics. An author of more than 30 publications in
mathematics journals, she was also a co-author of
a chapter in the book Domination in Graphs:
Advanced Topics. She served twice as a visiting professor at Institut Universitaire de Technologie in Fontainebleau, France. During the last three summers she has worked on her math research at conferences in Slovakia, South Africa and England, respectively. |

She is a member of the Association for Women in
Mathematics, the Mathematics Association of
America, and a fellow of The Institute of
Combinatorics and its Applications. |
