Chemistry 

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH 

Research is required for all chemistry and biochemistry majors. Students may complete this requirement either as independent research collaboration with Converse's faculty, or as a participant in a summer research program at another university.

Converse students frequently present papers at conferences such as the South Carolina Academy of Science. Recent research topics have included:

• Acid Rain in Spartanburg

• Environmental Chemistry of Streams and Marshes

• Laser Spectroscopy

• Synthesis of Cobalt Dicarbollides
