Dr. Suzanne Schuweiler-Daab’s current research focuses on examining the role of photography in the construction of cultural stereotypes in the twentieth-century. She is curating an exhibition of early-twentieth century photographs of the Gullah people from the Sea Islands off the coast of South Carolina and is writing a catalog for the exhibit. 
Past research projects have included curating exhibitions and writing catalogs on South Carolina women artists, including “Bellwether Belles: Converse Alumnae Artists from the Turn of the Century. Works on Paper by Margaret Law, Grace DuPré and Helen
DuPré Moseley.” 
Dr. Schuweiler Daab completed her dissertation on the iconography of Andy Warhol’s art which was the subject of several of her conference papers and a published article.
Her course offerings include modern and contemporary art, American art, Women and Art, nineteenth century art and Mythic Images of Native America.
