| Dr. Suzanne Schuweiler-Daab’s current research focuses on examining the role of photography in the construction of cultural stereotypes in the twentieth-century. She is curating an exhibition of early-twentieth century photographs of the Gullah people from the Sea Islands off the coast of South Carolina and is writing a catalog for the exhibit. |
Past research projects have included curating exhibitions and writing catalogs on South Carolina women artists, including “Bellwether Belles: Converse Alumnae Artists from the Turn of the Century. Works on Paper by Margaret Law, Grace DuPré and Helen
DuPré Moseley.” |
| Dr. Schuweiler Daab completed her dissertation on the iconography of Andy Warhol’s art which was the subject of several of her conference papers and a published article. |
| Her course offerings include modern and contemporary art, American art, Women and Art, nineteenth century art and Mythic Images of Native America. |
