Dianne Bagnal is the Director of Art Education in the Department of Art and Design at Converse College.  She teaches classes for Art Education majors as well as "Art for the Child" for Education majors.  Prior to coming to Converse, Professor Bagnal taught art for over 28 years.  Her wealth of experience teaching children of all ages gives her a background vital to her current teaching position.

In 1970 she earned a B.S. degree from East Carolina University in Art Education.  She has a master's degree in Gifted and Talented with an art concentration. Professor Bagnal has 30 hours above her Master's degree in Art and Education.

Mrs. Bagnal has served on the Board of the South Carolina Art Education Association.  She was elected to serve as the Western Region Coordinator for the SCAEA.  While on the board she helped write the Frameworks for the Arts in South Carolina.  She also helped write curricula for the secondary level for Spartanburg School District Seven.  Mrs. Bagnal helped design the Elementary Art program for the Greenville County School District in 1973.

Dianne Bagnal paints professionally.  She primarily works in acrylics and watercolors.  She has won numerous awards for her art work.  Professor Bagnal is active in the South Carolina Art Education Association.  She served as President of the Spartanburg Artist Guild from 1996-1998.  Mrs. Bagnal was an invited representative to the J. Paul Getty Conference on Technology and the arts.  She has been guest speaker for civic organizations on Art Education.
