Converse is a college for bright, ambitious, and articulate women who want a truly distinctive education that can carry them confidently through life or to the pinnacle of any profession. Converse is not for every woman. But for the student who is confident, adventurous, and talented – or who aspires to be – Converse is a place to grow and become.
Converse offers a liberal arts education with almost forty majors in four degree programs within the College of Arts and Sciences and the Petrie School of Music. A double-major is possible within four years in most programs. Converse emphasizes academic quality and small classes where professors know you well.
Challenge Yourself. Pursue in-depth independent and collaborative research and take part in special honors seminars that cover a wide range of topics in our Nisbet Honors Program. Become prepared for responsible citizenship in life through leadership training and service learning in our Institute for Leadership.
Play your part in our interactive campus life. Here, women come first—in our classrooms, in our science labs, in our music rehearsal halls, on our playing fields, and in our student organizations. Converse gives you confidence to take risks and tackle the unknown.
Explore the world and find your place. Converse students travel the world – from archeological digs in Israel to studies of economic and social structures in Chili and Peru. Converse students intern at "O" magazine, NASA, Entertainment Tonight, Merrill Lynch, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
