An honors student may participate in as many or as few of these social gatherings as she wishes. These include opportunities like the following:
- Food for Thought Program, a series of discussions over a meal. Food for Thought topics have included a discussion of "The Religious Significance of Food"
- Annual Honors Program banquet
- Lunch with Dr. Rebecca Sharpless, a prominent scholar and the Director of the Institute for Oral History at Baylor University.
- Lunch and discussion of child abuse research by Dr. Monica McCoy and Jennifer Gray ’05
- Lunch and discussion of the college’s Founder’s Ideal with chaplain Rev. Christine Henchar Reed
- Panel discussion with students and faculty on "Science Education in the U.S.: What Works, What Doesn't"
- Panel discussion on opportunities for student independent research
