Mission Trips

Each year, Converse sponsors a fall break and spring break service learning trip that offers the opportunity for students to travel and serve people living in marginal communities – such as the homeless, abandoned and abused children, and the indigent elderly.

Recent trips include working with Metanoia in North Charleston, SC where students painted the interior of a house for a low income elderly person. The 2009 spring break trip includes partnering with Habitat for Humanity and their collegiate challenge in Miami, Florida.  ConverseFallBreak08_5

Although students may not receive credit for these trips, they provide wonderful learning experiences in such subjects as foreign languages, economics, religion, and sociology.
